Becky Anderson, the host of CNNi's Connect the World, which airs Sunday through Thursday at 6pm CAT, has been named the news organisation's Managing Editor for the Middle East region (basically the Bureau Chief).
This follows the departure of Phil O'Sulliva, who held that position since March 2012, but has been with the organisation in various capacities mainly at their Hong Kong and then Abu Dhabi bureaus.
On Becky's appointment to the position, CNNi head, Tony Maddox said, " “We are delighted to announce that Becky Anderson will become
Managing Editor – the regional figurehead and chief of the bureau. She
will report to [SVP and CNNI general manager] Mike McCarthy. She will be
supported in running our regional production center by a team of the
existing staff – each of whom will bring leadership in their bespoke
areas of expertise.”
Becky, 46, relocated from the UK to Abu Dhabi earlier this year when CNNi decided to can their business-centric Middle East based show, Global Exchange with John Deftarious, and replaced it with her Connect the World.
