This was a result of an attempted armed robbery of the house where she was celebrating the festival of Diwali along with two colleagues. The fireworks reportedly blocked out the screams coming from the house.
The bullet was lodged in her shoulder.
eNCA's outgoing head of news, Ben Said, said, "She is doing well but is in hospital receiving surgery to have the bullet removed. She will make a full recovery.”
