ANN7, the least watched and youngest of South Africa's three news channels (the other two being eNCA and SABC News), is finally joining the other two in having their signal reach the countries other that South Africa. But unlike the other two, they broadcast a nightly news bulletin in prime time centered around the African continent.
Ironically, however, despite being called AFRICAN News Network and having a daily African news bulletin, and now reaching the rest of the continent, the channel, unlike both their main competitors, however do not have any bureaus outside South Africa

ANN7 is the newest 24-hour news channel focusing on constructive stories in the interests of building an African culture of unity and pride. Its latest newsroom automation systems, cutting edge electronic news gathering technology and a network of sharp, young journalists and experienced editors will give a fresh perspective to the TV viewers.
The leadership of ANN7 is ensuring the channel offers innovative programming that encapsulates issues relevant to youth and women. The line-up of programmes includes Morning Prime, Express Lunch and Shape Your Life. The channel will have dedicated teams for the different segments ranging from politics, to business, sports and entertainment news.
ANN7 will be available to DStv subscribers on Family, Compact, Compact Plus (where available) and Premium. This news channel will be part of an array of news channels currently available on DStv, which include, the recently launched SABC 24-Hour News Channel, CNBC Africa, eNCA, Al Jazeera, CNN and BBC, Sky News and Bloomberg.
